One Accenture Park
_
During the pandemic, onboarding was challenging, to say the least. It required nothing short of a reinvention of how companies welcomed new employees and engaged them into their processes and culture. Accenture met the challenge brilliantly. By using strategy, design and development, my design team built an immersive VR experience called “One Accenture Park” where new hires could learn, experience, and more importantly meet each other and feel a part of their new company.
One Accenture Park was also a way to showcase Accenture’s prowess in incorporating leading-edge technology in breakthrough ways. The first year, the program onboarded more than 150,000 new hires, and each year the numbers have steadily increased. Wayfinding signage provides directions to different virtual rooms, where new employees can learn about aspects of the company and its offerings. The environmental graphics created the impression of an environment with infinite potential.
One Accenture Park has also been showcased in the media. Articles have highlighted the company’s innovative use of virtual reality for the initiative. But the most important endorsement has come from employees, who found the experience a total revelation—reinforcing their decision to join a company that thinks and acts differently.
